What can ShiftTrained train my staff on?
Your menu first, every item, ingredient, price, and allergen, and well beyond it: your drink and spirits program through Know Your Brands, plus handbooks, service standards, and steps of service through document upload. If you can put it in a menu or a document, ShiftTrained turns it into a quiz.
What POS systems does ShiftTrained integrate with?
Toast and Square, directly. Connect your POS in a few clicks and ShiftTrained pulls your live menu, the items, prices, descriptions, and photos, and builds the training automatically. No POS, or running a system we don't support yet? Upload your menu directly, that always works.
Can a question show a photo of the dish?
Yes. ShiftTrained can put a dish photo right on the question, pulled from your POS item images or uploaded by you, so staff learn to recognize the plate, not just memorize the name.
Can I edit the questions or build my own quiz?
Both, on every plan including the free trial. Edit any question, fix an answer, delete the ones that don't fit your house, or write your own from scratch. Then build whatever quiz you want out of them: pick the exact questions, how many, the pass mark, and how long they get per question. Most owners end up with several, a wine quiz for the bar, an allergen quiz for the floor, a short one for new hires, all off the same menu. What we build for you is a first draft, not a final exam. Our AI does the typing so you don't spend a Sunday writing questions, but it is your menu and your standards, so it is your quiz.
How do staff actually take the training?

Does it handle allergens safely?
We don’t invent allergen, gluten or vegetarian information. If your menu states it, we quiz on it exactly as printed, the same as any other detail. If your menu doesn’t mention allergens, we won’t make anything up to fill a gap, because a guessed allergen answer is worse than no answer at all. If allergens matter in your house and they aren’t on the menu, upload your allergen sheet and we’ll build a quiz from that instead.
